Hydrogen stored in a non-toxic oil-based carrier fluid, regulated like diesel or gasoline, with negligible safety or environmental concerns.
Low CAPEX costs due to the low temperature and energy required for the storage and release process.
99.999% fuel cell grade hydrogen purity, no additional purification required. Hydrogen-type-agnostic storage system.
Competitive volumetric storage density of 55kg/m3 of LOHC.
Easy to store and suitable for transportation in conventional infrastructure - existing tanks, trucks and pipelines.
No self-discharge during storage. Suitable for long-duration storage without losses.

Ayrton’s LOHC uses a carrier oil that can easily absorb and release hydrogen gas, like sponges that soak up hydrogen. Through this innovative method, we can transport hydrogen safely and in large quantities without the need for high-pressure tanks or cryogenic conditions, reducing risks associated with hydrogen storage and transport.
When bound to the carrier oil the hydrogen is stored and managed as a room temperature, room pressure liquid that can utilize existing oilfield infrastructure – tanks, trucks, rail cars, and pipelines. This enables the seamless integration of hydrogen into the energy supply chain, making it more accessible and practical than ever before.
